Juicy Chicken Alfredo Pasta Bake: Creamy Comfort Food

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or cubed (I love using rotisserie chicken for convenience)
  • 12 ounces penne pasta or any short pasta of your choice
  • 3 cups Alfredo sauce store-bought or homemade; I’ll include a quick recipe below!
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Cook Your Pasta
  • Start by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions. Make sure to cook it al dente since it will continue to cook in the oven. Overcooked pasta can turn mushy, and no one wants that! Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Chicken and Sauce
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until the chicken is warmed through.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the Alfredo sauce, heavy cream, and half of the mozzarella cheese. This combination creates that dreamy, creamy texture we’re after. If you’re using homemade Alfredo sauce, this is the time to shine!
  • Step 3: Combine Everything
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, chicken mixture, and Alfredo sauce. Stir until everything is evenly coated. The goal is to make sure every piece of pasta is covered in that creamy, cheesy goodness.
  • Step 4: Assemble the Bake
  • Transfer the pasta mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top. If you’re feeling fancy, add a little extra Parmesan for good measure.
  • Step 5: Bake to Perfection
  • Bake the pasta in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. If you like a crispy, golden top, switch on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes—just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.
  • Step 6: Garnish and Serve
  • Remove the pasta bake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley for a pop of color and serve warm. Trust me, it’ll be hard to resist diving in right away!
