Hot Ranch Sausage Dip: The Ultimate Game-Day Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage I usually go with mild sausage, but if you like a little more spice, feel free to use hot sausage!
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened (this makes it super creamy)
  • ½ cup ranch dressing store-bought or homemade, either works!
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese shredded cheese works best for melting
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese because who doesn’t love extra melty cheese?
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder adds a little depth of flavor
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder because you can never have too much onion flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional, but perfect for a little kick
  • Tortilla chips crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping (I’ll leave that part up to you—get creative!)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Sausage

  • Start by browning the ground sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Break the sausage apart as it cooks so it gets nice and crumbled. Once it’s all cooked through and no longer pink, drain any excess grease. This step is super important because you want to avoid any extra greasy dip. After draining, set the sausage aside.

Step 2: Make the Creamy Base

  • Now that your sausage is cooked, turn the heat down to low and add the softened cream cheese to the same skillet. Stir it around until it melts into a smooth, creamy mixture. Once the cream cheese is fully melted, add in the ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if you're adding spice). Stir everything together until it’s nice and creamy—this is the base of your dip, and it’s going to be delicious!

Step 3: Add the Sausage and Cheese

  • Next, stir in that browned sausage. It’s going to blend perfectly with the creamy mixture, giving you that amazing texture. Then, sprinkle in your shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir it all together until the cheese melts completely into the dip. It’s going to be a gooey, cheesy goodness that’s irresistible.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  • Once everything is fully combined and melted, give it one last stir to make sure everything is perfectly mixed. If you’re serving it for a party, I like to transfer it into a slow cooker or a warming dish to keep it hot for longer. But if you’re just serving it right away, grab your favorite dipping snacks—chips, crackers, or even some fresh veggies—and dig in!
