Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Step 1: Cream the Butter and Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Think of this as the start of all cookie magic.

Step 2: Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla. At this point, your dough will smell so good you’ll want to taste it—but hold off (raw eggs, you know!).

Step 3: Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Step 4: Fold in Chocolate Chips

  • Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Sneak a few—baker’s privilege!

Step 5: Scoop and Bake

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space for spreading. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are soft.
