Bang Bang Chicken Sliders Recipe: A Fun, Flavorful Meal for Any Day

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into small slider-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs these give the chicken a nice crunch
  • 1 egg to help everything stick
  • Salt and pepper to taste—don’t skip this, it really brings out the flavor

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise for creaminess
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce for that perfect balance of sweet
  • 2 tbsp sriracha this adds the heat, so adjust based on your spice level
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar for a little tang

For the Sliders:

  • Slider buns soft, mini buns are the best, but you can use any type you prefer
  • Fresh lettuce or spinach totally optional, but adds a fresh crunch
  • Pickles or onions optional, but they add a nice tangy crunch—pick your favorite

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  • First things first: cut your chicken breasts into small pieces. Aim for bite-sized pieces that are just the right size for your slider buns. You don’t want them too big or too small—just the perfect fit for a single bite.
  • Next, set up a breading station. In one bowl, combine your flour, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg. Finally, place your panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Now, you’re ready to bread the chicken.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture first, making sure it’s well-coated. Then, dip it into the egg to help the breadcrumbs stick. Finally, roll it in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to make sure it’s coated evenly. Repeat with all of the chicken pieces.

Step 2: Fry the Chicken

  • Heat up a little oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. You don’t need a ton of oil—just enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Once the oil is hot (you can test it by dropping a small piece of bread in the pan—if it sizzles, it’s ready), add your chicken pieces to the pan. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan; you want each piece to have enough room to cook evenly.
  • Fry the chicken for about 4-5 minutes per side, until it’s golden brown and crispy. Depending on the size of your chicken pieces, the cooking time might vary, so make sure the chicken is cooked through (the internal temperature should be 165°F). Once cooked, place the chicken pieces on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Step 3: Make the Bang Bang Sauce

  • While the chicken is frying, you can make the bang-bang sauce. This part is so easy, and the sauce is what makes these sliders stand out. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar until everything is smooth and well-combined.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the heat if you want it spicier—just add more sriracha. If you prefer it a bit milder, dial back the sriracha. The balance of sweet and spicy is what makes this sauce so addictive, so feel free to adjust it to your liking.

Step 4: Assemble the Sliders

  • Once the chicken is crispy and the sauce is ready, it’s time to assemble these little flavor bombs! Start by placing a few fresh leaves of lettuce or spinach on the bottom half of each slider bun. This gives the sliders a fresh, crunchy base.
  • Next, add a few pieces of the crispy chicken on top of the lettuce. You want the chicken to be piled high so you get a bit of that crispy crunch in every bite. Then, drizzle the bang-bang sauce generously over the chicken. The sauce is creamy, spicy, and sweet—it really ties everything together, so don’t be shy.
  • Top each slider with the other half of the bun, and just like that, you’ve got yourself some Bang Bang Chicken Sliders!

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

  • These sliders are best served immediately, but you can keep them warm in the oven if you’re making them ahead of time for a party or get-together. Serve them with a side of crispy fries, a fresh salad, or even some roasted veggies. Whatever you choose, these sliders are guaranteed to be the star of the meal.
